Know when the important change happened

Know approximately when you saved the important change. Keep the local record until recovery is established.

Compare the saved recovery point

  1. Open Settings, then iCloud Backup.
  2. Check whether backup is enabled on this device.
  3. Read the latest successful recovery point and any current error.
  4. Use Back up now when a newer copy is needed.
  5. Recheck the recovery point after the operation completes.

Distinguish saved from in progress

The point you intend to use should cover the relevant change. A queued or in-progress operation is not the same as a saved point.

Investigate a stale point

Background scheduling depends on the device and system. If the point is stale, check the account, connection, and storage before treating it as current.
