Keep two identities separate

Prepare facts about each item separately. Avoid copying a serial, receipt, or cost from one record into another.

Build distinct personal records

  1. Create or open the first item’s record.
  2. Add a nickname that makes sense to you. Keep make and model factual.
  3. Link the personal photo and documents that belong to that item.
  4. Repeat for the second item, then compare the two dossiers side by side in your review.

Trace each item’s receipt and history

You should be able to identify which receipt, service entry, and range history belong to each item.

Name an uncertain photo link

If a photo or document could belong to either item, label the uncertainty rather than treating the link as verified. Correct the source link when you establish it.

Keep the connected record.
