Record facts you can recall

Use only details you know. This guide concerns records and does not recommend techniques or firearm use.

Write the session’s dated observations

  1. Identify the session date and venue.
  2. List the firearms and recorded round counts separately.
  3. Record the ammunition reference when known.
  4. Use plain factual notes for anything you want to preserve.
  5. Review and post the session, then check the connected history.

Read the note without adding a conclusion

Another reading of the entry should explain what was recorded without turning a note into a qualification or performance claim.

Separate the session and note dates

If you add the note later, distinguish the session date from the date you wrote it. Leave an unknown count unknown.

Keep the connected record.
